The film was produced by Vinayan under the banner of Akash Films. It was shot in Ottapalam, Kochi and Pondicherry.

This socio-political satire unravels through hilarious incidents when two people - strong followers of Communist ideologies-set out on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala. This is the 25th directorial venture of ace director Lal Jose. The film was released on 8 November 2019.

Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language sci-fi comedy-drama film written and directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla, and starring Soubin Shahir, Suraj Venjaaramood, Kendy Zirdo, and Saiju Kurup. It was copied from the English movie Robot & Frank. The music was composed by Bijibal. In the plot, Subrahmannyan (Soubin) goes to Russia for work, leaving his old-age father Bhaskara Poduval (Suraj) with an Android robot (Kunjappan) to take care of him. Bhaskara, however, hates the idea.
